You can do anything for 30 days

My husband recently read a news article about a publishing company that holds a contest during the month of November to find a book to publish. They ask budding writers to write a book in 30 days. It doesn't matter what it's about or have to fit in a certain genre, it just has to be written in 30 days. I'm sure there are more guidelines that I don't know about, but that's not the point.

We talked about challenging each other in the competition. Using it as motivation to do something different and potentially great. So my November will be spent writing. Every day. For 30 days.

Have you ever noticed that life can kind of pass you by at times? Like you do what you do and suddenly 5 months have gone by. That's what happens when you have a baby, I guess. At least, that's what happened for me. I love what I do. Every day. I love it. And because I love it, I don't want to get to the end of 10 years and realize I've taken it for granted.

Someone said to me while praying for me that I should write. I have something to say, so I should write. I'm writing. I guess the things I have to say will come up eventually.

30 days is the kind of time frame you can look at and say, "I can do that." I think change happens like that. I have things I want to be better at in life. I want to be better at reading my bible regularly. Like really regularly, not just when Pastor Mitch talks about something and I read ahead in the chapter or when I read to my baby girl before bed. I want to learn to play the piano, not just how to play, but learn to really play. I want to paint. I used to paint all the time, and then I did different things. I painted today and remembered how much I love it. I want lots of things. I also want people to approve of what I'm doing, except I don't want to want that.

I'm going to take on months of change. Starting this month. It's too easy to say I'm going to start. So I'm just gonna start, right now. They say habits are formed in just 21 days. Change can happen in 30. This month will be Bible month. I'm going to write about what I read each day so you can see that I'm really doing it. I really want to make this month painting month too, but I'm too good at making plans and not following through. So this month will just be Bible month, with some painting on the side if I feel like it.

Commence Bible month...
